What are the different responsibilities of presenters and producers? Assistant Producer- Fiona: Briefs guests, keeps an eye on equipment and keeping it level. Learns from Will and fills in any gaps. Have a music team 4am - 7pm programme music so not the same songs in the same order. Being able to be a nice guy as well as technical stuff. Roles are always changing.
What preparation that goes into each programme Looking through what's happened and trying their best to reflect it. There's a structure breaking down half hours into 10 minuite chunks. The night before - rough plan. When you get in - figure outwhere there gonna be, what time there gonna happen and how long your going to spend on each one. Sheet of stuff to talk about and pick when it feels write. Main show sketched out and then "list of hot food"- random less important stuff. Differs with whos coming in. If your asking questions they have to be the best questions. Fiona, the producer has to brief guests and tells them what they've been talking through on that show. What not to do.
What's most challenging and most enjoyable about working on the show? Taking note of real life situations - funny things.
New production - new ideas. Always changing.
What are the team dynamics like? Everyone has to all get on and understand each other and what each person needs in that space as its a small room and everyone is close together. Have to be prepared, have to rely on each other e.g. team assistants. Work closely as a team. Mother and Father looking out for each other. work as a team to get everything right. Teach everyone to learn. Treat it like a job - then you all get on and have a chemistry. Trust each other, decisions to be made quickly. Know each other well. WhatsApp group.
